Running a Hair Extension Business: Questions to Answer First

Planning before your first paying client

Learning to fit extensions is one thing. Running a business around them is another. These are the questions to answer first.

Who is the client?

Think about who you want to work with and what they are likely to ask for.

How will they find you?

Decide whether you will rely on word of mouth, a social page, a salon or something else.

What will you need?

List the tools, supplies and kit you need, what they cost and where you will keep them.

What do you need in place?

Ask a professional adviser about insurance, records and any rules that apply to you. This guide cannot answer those for you.

How will you manage time?

Work out how long an appointment really takes, including consultation and clearing up.

If you are looking at the Exeter course, ask whether it covers business planning and what exactly it covers.

Reserve a place

Message the provider to ask which Exeter date has a place, what is in the starter kit and how to get there.
